Thank you. I wonder - How would the ladies of 17th & 18th c. Versailles react to our wearing so much black??
They'd likely be appalled. They only wore it when they had to. One interesting trend through the period 1682-1789 is that the periods of formal mourning dwindled from weeks to days.
The ladies refused to be bogged down socially and aesthetically in shrouded black. Fascinating to consider.
